Holy Water

Published by on Friday, 5 December 2008No Comment

St. Mary Magdalen’s Church in Upper North Street received a shock from Southern Water – a bill for £4,600. This is said to have been “going on for months” according to the church’s priest, Father Ray Blake, and stems from a demand made by Southern Water over a year ago for £1,600, which the church feels is incorrect. The church’s community centre rents out its premises for various community functions, but feel it is impossible to have clocked up such a high charge for water usage.
