Oh, the blood-thirsty amongst you will like this one. A man – I know nothing more about him than that – managed to impale his leg on the gates of Brighton Station. How did he manage this feat? By trying – and subsequently failing disastrously – to climb the locked gates of the closed station at 3am. Paramedics were on hand providing oxygen to him whilst the fire brigade cut him free. Idiot.

The Bandstand.
Having been a Brightonian since 1938, I was pleased to see that the Bandstand on the seafront has been restored and that music once again will be heard. No doubt dech chairs will be provide a sthey used to be on Satirday and sunday lunchtimes/afternoons. One failing I seem to remember that there wre glass shields affixed to the west and southern sides so that music, players, was not blown about and dampened by the prevailing southwest winds.
